Swimming pool
No holiday without a nice swimming pool !!
At our holiday accommodations no strict lifeguards but freedom to play, dive, make water bombs and cool down in the swimming pool. This applies not only for the kids, but also for the parents! For the small ones we have an extra inflatable bath and a water canal system Aquaplay for hours playtime.
Of course there are sufficient moments to just do some laps, read a book while your are floating at your inflatable or take a sunbath on the comfortable sunbeds next to the swimming pool.
Child friendly and small scale set up
All our holiday accommodations are child friendly; the gardens are completely fenced, have nice indoor and outdoor play areas, games, books, small animals, toys, quests, holiday friends. All capabilities to be and to do together as family.
The holiday cottages, apartments and camping pods are situated in such a way that they offer enough privacy and peace.
So with kids and without kids a perfect spot for your holiday with swimming pool in mid Portugal, close to the sea and beach, Nazaré.
We speak the language and know the way around
The owners of Casa Cantiga, Sandra and Maurice, are Dutch and live since 2006 in Portugal with their kids. With their years of holiday rental experiences, they understand what is required for their guests to relax and enjoy their holidays. They speak the language, know the way around and are available if required. This provides a safe feeling!

Internet access
Free internet access via Wifi is available for the guests of Casa Cantiga holiday resort, Quinta do Carmo and beach apartment SolMar. At Casa Cantiga and Casa da Joana also at the swimming pool :).
Sun and shadow
The terraces, garden and swimming pools offer a lot of sun. Happily enough shadow is created at various shaded terraces.
Indoor & outdoor play areas
At Casa Cantiga you have a nice outdoor play garden for the kids. Sand pit, swing, petanque, tree house, trampoline, badminton, etc. and indoor a ping pong table, shuffle board. Completed with many, many games to play. Casa da Joana also has a nice play garden, even a small football field with 2 real goals. In front of Beach apartment SolMar you find a nice play garden at the boulevard (and the beach as huge sand pit).
Reading corner
Despite all e readers, is reading a normal book very nice at your holiday. At Casa Cantiga we have a bookcase with many Dutch, English and Portuguese books and comics, like Donald Duck. So reading pleasure for all ages. You can exchange your own books!
Facilities for the smallest ones
We offer free of charge:
- Baby / toddler package consisting of cot, chair, baby tub, toilet bowl and toys
- As long as available; a buggy, children´s car seats (from 3 years), child back carrier and a Rambler walking wagon
Catering
- As service for late arrivals, we can organise for you a simple evening meal and / or breakfast package. We offer this against cost price. Please reserve up front.
- One time per week we have a pizza evening (in case of enough participants).

Bikes
We have mountain bikes, normal bikes, GPS navigation for hiking and biking. They can be used against a small fee.
Laundry cleaning
At Casa Cantiga as well as Casa da Joana , you can do your laundry against small fee.
Information folder
We have available at every holiday accommodation extensive information folders for your cultural or more sportive activities. We have various hiking and biking routes made for your. We have information which beach suits you best, or which restaurant or which water fun park. Are you already curious?
No mandatory refreshments
A drink at the pool, some peanuts at the terrace, the best part of a nice holiday.
At Casa Cantiga, different compared to many other holiday resorts, we have a self catering concept. You hare not mandatory, even not able to buy your refreshments at the bar. You do not have to be sneaky, you just bring your own drinks and peanuts. This save you a lot of money!
Climate
Talking about the weather, a favourite thing for many of us. Unfortunately we can not guarantee your holiday weather. For sure, our Portuguese small scale and child friendly holiday cottages are situated in a lovely moderate climate. Enjoy for example in holiday cottage Casinha Cançonetta or Holiday home Casa no Pomar. We have a lot of sun, nice temperatures and a breath taking view to the stars. Enjoy it 365 days per year!
To do!
Hikers and bikers can be thrilled for a holiday at Casa Cantiga. The surroundings of our holiday houses, apartments and camping pods are magnificent. For a quite walk, a discovery or to give it all at the steep hills with your mountain bike. Or just a nice ride with the car to enjoy the nice villages and the beautiful views along the road. Lot of culture! Don´t forget to spent time relaxed at one of the many pastelarias and esplanadas where you find the best food and drinks against low prices.
Next to your “holiday do nothing” feeling, there are also many activities to do something different; You can play tennis, drive 4×4 off road, visit cool caves, sail, stand up paddle, play golf, etc. Our “to see, to do and to eat” pages show that everybody can enjoy a holiday in mid Portugal, at your child friendly holiday resort with holiday cottages in small scale set up.
